Align Magazine

University of Oregon’s student-run arts and culture media outlet, with a focus on lifestyle and fashion and a quarterly printed magazine.

In my first week of college, I joined Align Magazine as a writer and immediately fell in love with the community of creativity, teamwork, and style. Since then, I’ve worked as an executive copy editor, and currently serve as the executive print editor. I’ve grown so much as a creative, professional, and person through this publication, and I love it dearly.

Work as Executive Print Editor

As the executive print editor, I oversee the magazine publishing, from the beginning theme brainstorming meeting, to digitally arranging the files to be printed. I worked with 150 members of the print department to develop and refine their content, ensuring a consistent level of quality throughout the publication. I also provided support to the print department heads by leading weekly meetings, keeping projects on schedule, and organizing events. Working with such a large staff taught me important leadership, collaboration, and organization skills, and I loved every second.
